Usher Speaks Out For First Time Since Son’s Pool Accident

Usher issues a statement concerning his child’s recent pool accident and near-death experience.
As we reported earlier this week, Usher’s son suffered a near-fatal accident at his home in Atlanta, when he was swimming in his pool and his hand got caught in the drain trying to reach for a pool toy.
Following the incident, 5-year old boy was brought to the ICU, where he’s been recovering since. While his mother and Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Raymond was obviously upset with what happened, she has ignited a custody battle. Tameka filed for primary custody on Tuesday, and a hearing has already been set.
In the midst of this, Usher has spoken out for the first time since the accident. Usher released a statement, expressing his gratitude to his family and the men who saved his son’s life.
“I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock. I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son’s life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them.”
The r’n'b singer continued,  ”I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being.”
