A 32-year-old man, Ahmed Adediran, has been arraigned before an Ikeja magistrate’s court over alleged assault of one Anaye David, an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA.
The accused was said to have unlawfully assaulted David while armed with a bottle and a stick at Mile 12, Lagos.
According to the charge, MIK/B/139/2014, the accused committed the said offence with others already charged to Magistrate Court 2 on Charge No. MIK/B/117/2014.

However, when the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.
Police prosecutor, ASP Nnamonu Ibekwe, informed the court that the offence was punishable under Section 17 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. She ordered that the sureties must be blood relations.
