Lagos – The Ndigbo Cultural Society of Nigeria (NCSN) on Monday commended President Goodluck Jonathan over the ground-breaking ceremony of the “Second Niger Bridge’’.
In a statement issued in Lagos by its President, Chief Udo Udeogaranya, the NCSN expressed profound gratitude to President Jonathan over the inauguration of the bridge.
The group noted that the bridge, when completed, would advance robust economic activities in Igboland by facilitating easy access into the region.
“With this commencement of work on the second Niger bridge and for achieving this milestone, Jonathan has proven an uncommon leadership quality of matching his promises with actions.
“The president has also redefined himself as a man with exceptional integrity, striding on golden characters of dedication, devotion, allegiance, loyalty and total commitment to public service,’’ it said.
According to the statement, Jonathan is a believer in “a promise made is a promise fulfilled’’.
It reiterated the group’s continued gratitude to the President over the appointments of Ndigbo into political positions.
Jonathan would also be remembered for giving international status to the Enugu Airport, giving Anambra an oil producing state status, and the rehabilitation of the Lagos-Onitsha highway, among others.
The NCSN, however, assured the president of its support in the 2015 elections, should he decide to run.
