We’ve left Ige’s killers to God — Son

Twelve years after the assassination  of the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Chief Bola Ige, by yet to be identified gunmen, the family of the late politician declared yesterday that though they had left his killers to God for divine judgment, it would be difficult to forget the memories.
Muyiwa  Ige, the surviving son of the late politician who is the current Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning in Osun State said the killers of his late father could not escape from the wrath of God at an appropriate time.
Speaking in Osogbo, yesterday, Muyiwa noted that the killers of Ige still move round the streets up till date, a situation which he said frustrate the family members.

According to him “Bola Ige did not kill himself, Ige did not organize the ceremony where he was assaulted in Ile-Ife by himself, he did not assault himself in Ile-Ife, but some people did that to him.”
He said the killers of his late father would not know peace till they join him, stressing that the ghost of Ige would continue to hurt all those who knew about his assassination.
The late Bola Ige was murdered at his Bodija, Ibadan residence in
December 2001 while serving as Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation.
Lamenting the gruesome manner at which his father was killed, Muyiwa
stated that Ige’s killing would never go off the memory of those who knew him.
He recalled that his late father was assaulted in Ile-Ife few days to his killing at the Palace of Ooni of Ife where according to him he presented staff of office to the monarch some 20 years before the incident.
